Mission Statement
Colossians 3:23 - "Whatever you do, work heartily, for the Lord and not for men."
Our mission in life is to give all of the glory to God in everything we do. This blog is included in that mission. We will strive to pursue our passion God has given us for sports and provide you with articles and stories that are free from profanity and rich in content and interest. To God be the glory, forever and ever.
About the Authors
Ryan Frisco – I am currently finding my way in the corporate world while pursuing my dream of Sports Analyst on the side. Born and raised in Philly, I have naturally grown up a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, and work my entire year around 17 Sunday afternoons in the Fall and Winter. Unnaturally though, I have garnered a deep love of the Baltimore Orioles thanks to my Dad and the consistency of Cal Ripken, Jr. My guilty pleasure? Nascar. Don’t ask. I have been so blessed by God to enjoy life with my amazing wife and son in the small town of Elverson, Pennsylvania. Check it out some time; you’ll be glad you visited the Greatest Square Mile in Pennsylvania.
Caleb Musselman - I am a 2012 college grad living in the heart of Yinzer Nation (Pittsburgh, PA). A born and raised Philadelphia suburb native, I am officially living behind enemy lines. I have three loves, Philadelphia sports, soccer and music. I spent my childhood listening to Harry Kalas on the radio every night. That combined with 12 years of homeschooling has left me socially scarred for life. After studying communications (with a concentration in radio broadcasting), I made the obvious transition into being a seafood salesman. When I’m not watching my teams dominate the regular season, I am fantasizing about the day when Claude Giroux raises the cup and gives an Utley-esque speech on Broad Street. I am a lifelong NASCAR and competitive cheerleading hater, so I’ll leave those topics to Ryan. Bring it on Ryan. I pride myself in being the most unbiased Philly fan you will find. In fact, my lone superstition is to be pessimistic but perpetually loyal til death do us part. As my least favorite stale ale puts it, “It’s only weird if it doesn’t work (Bud).” It’s only worked once (2008 WS), so I guess now it’s just weird. Write on.
Ben Makin- College senior and straight gangster. My first love is soccer, and I’m 100% biased when it comes to the EPL. Arsenal is the best club ever; deal with it. I live in the middle of Pennsylvania where the Steeler’s rule the land, so it only makes sense that I’m a Dolphins Fan. I do however love the Pitt Panthers, Penguins, and the Pirates (when they're good). Talking sports is a severe passion of mine, and hopefully I’ll write some things people really disagree with. I’ve been assigned to the Association, and my plan is to watch way too many games, fail out my last semester, and then convince my parents I’m an aspiring writer. Challenge Accepted. Eric Berkenpas: I am a big time sports fan born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Naturally, this makes me a fan of the Steelers, Penguins, Panthers and yes, even the Pirates even though I have only barely been alive during a winning season. Dating back to my childhood, I have also been a big U of M fan. I attended a K-12 Private Christian School where I participated in varsity soccer, basketball and track. I then moved on to Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and graduated in 2011 with a degree in Accounting and have been working in downtown Pittsburgh since. I am generally unbiased when it comes to sports, but sometimes passion can get in the way of that and like any passionate sports fan, outrageous things can escape my mouth. In a blog-type setting, however, my unbiased nature will prevail. I am not an expert in all sports so you will find that I will write primarily about hockey and occasionally about baseball, as they are my true passion. Enjoy!
We need to give a big shout out to Virginia Saint who got us up and running and showed us the ropes of the blogging business. Check out her blog! http://virginiaandcharlie.blogspot.com/
